Introducing Strength Training for Women, Coached by Women
Barbell Bettys is a beginner strength training class for women only, coached by women only. The class is geared towards women of all ages with little to no weight training experience. Our CrossFit Weight Lifting and Level One and Level Two certified coaches, Gayle Moseley, Liz Rihani, Morgan Pleasant and Janet Hume will teach the basics of strength training with weights: squats, presses and deadlifts.
The class will start with hands-on instruction with light weights on proper form and technique. Over the course of the summer, as athletes gain strength, they will progressively increase loads, always under the watchful eye of our experienced coaches.
Strength training is vital for women for maintaining muscle and bone mass and for burning fat. There are other reasons why this type of exercise is beneficial: read Liz’s piece, Why I Lift or Gayle’s Me vs. Ikea.
This is the perfect class for women who know they should be weight training, but don’t know how to start.
Class time for Barbell Betty’s are:
- Sundays, 4-5pm
- Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm
- Thursdays, 7:30-8:30pm
- Fridays, 10:30-11:30am
You can start anytime!
There are four options for attending this class:
1) Monthly: 9x/month for $155. This pass includes access to Barbell Bettys, Boot Camp, Open Gym (and CrossFit if you have attended Foundations or been given clearance by Liz and Gayle.)
2) Monthly: Unlimited classes. $175/month. Includes all classes (same as above).
3) 10-pack: $189. Includes BB Bettys and Boot Camp. Expires 3 months after purchase.
4) Drop In: $20/class.
